Finance Motivational Quotes

We generate fears while we sit. We overcome them by action. – Dr. Henry Link

  • Admit it, how many times have you worried about your financial situation?
  • How do you know if those worries are warranted if you haven’t taken the time to learn the tools to course correct?
  • Or do what it takes to be financially well?

Maybe you’ll be fine. Maybe a small action can improve your finances dramatically. Action is the only way to fix this.

People say that money is not the key to happiness, but I figured if you have enough money, you can have a key made. – Joan Rivers

Make no mistake, money is essential in order to survive and thrive. But money also has the power to do good and create happiness on your terms. YOU have the power to decide.

When you undervalue what you do, the world will undervalue who you are. – Oprah

The capability and work of women continues to be undermined and undervalued. However, that doesn’t make their opinions true. Don’t play into their hands.  Know your worth and ask for it.

Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.  – Franklin D. Roosevelt

Agree 100%. It’s what you do with your money that matters. So, have fun making it and make a lot of it.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. – Aristotle

Mastering your money is a lifelong process. Staying debt-free, building wealth, and planning for your life goals will be a result of the daily decisions you make or don’t make. Remember that.

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. – Maya Angelou

If you feel financial shame or have regrets on how you managed money in the past, then this one is for you.

Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune. – Jim Rohn

Financial literacy is seldom taught in schools. But that doesn’t mean it’s not important. Investing in your financial knowledge will lead to the greatest return.

Best Investing Quotes

If you have trouble imagining a 20% loss in the stock market, you shouldn’t be in stocks. – John Boyle

Market corrections happen. In fact there have already been six since the current bull market started in 2009. But as you’ll also see, recoveries also happen. Remember that they’re only “paper losses” unless you sell, and markets have historically trended upwards over the long-term.

It is better to be roughly right than precisely wrong. – John Maynard Keynes

This one is for you perfectionists out there. It’s impossible to pick the right stock, mutual fund or ETF that’s going to get you your goal return. There’s too much focus on what was possibly lost and not enough on what was gained. That’s why you diversify – so you get investing right most of the time and avoid disaster when you get it wrong.

Far more money has been lost by investors trying to anticipate corrections, than lost in the corrections themselves. – Peter Lynch

No one can time the markets. There are far too many factors that can impact it – many of which are unknown. The problem is that you not only have to get the timing of getting out of the market right, you also have to time getting back in correctly.

Compound Interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it. He who doesn’t, pays it. – Albert Einstein

Yes. But let’s change that he to she shall we? Generating earnings on auto mode 24/7 is what investing brings you. Paying more interest on your debt than you have to so someone else benefits is what will deplete your savings.

Behind every stock is a company. Find out what it’s doing. – Peter Lynch

A golden rule in investing is to buy what you know. Recognize that you’re purchasing a piece of a business and its ability to generate earnings when you invest in a stock.

How many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts? I rest my case. – Robert G. Allen

Leaving your cash in a savings account won’t cut it. Not when expenses are rising faster than wages and not when women are facing a 40% wealth gap.

The four most dangerous words in investing are: ‘this time it’s different. – Sir John Templeton

History always repeats itself. That’s because humans have short-term memories and let their greed, FOMO and the need for instant gratification get the best of them. Be on the other side of that and you’ll be well ahead of the pack.

Warren Buffet Investing Quotes

The stock market is designed to transfer money from the active to the patient.

Love this quote. Female investors are more patient than their male counterparts, and they value good quality stocks that they plan to hold for the long haul. Perhaps that’s why it’s been proven that women are better investors than men. J

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

If you’re investing in a stock solely with the aim of “buying low” and hoping to “sell high” you’re missing the point of investing. What will ultimately drive your success is understanding the long-term value a company can create for you. Ask yourself: What’s its business model? How good is its management and what’s their track record for executing? These are the things that will ultimately drive it’s price higher and reward you in the long-run.

Calling someone who trades actively in the market an investor is like calling someone who repeatedly engages in one-night stands a romantic.

I have a saying: Anyone can slap a few stocks together and call themselves an investor. Self-labelling doesn’t mean they’ll be successful. And if they’re so arrogant to think they can time the market, they’re far from one.

It is not necessary to do extraordinary things to get extraordinary results.

Doing “bigger and better” will not give you successful investing results. Often, it’s that thoughtful, well-timed investment in a great business that will trump a dozen good short-term ideas.

Everyone knows at least one ‘know-it-all’. If you want to invest well, don’t be a know-it-all.

The most successful people I know in finance and business are those who recognize what they don’t know and either ask questions or set out to learn to fill that knowledge gap. The least successful folks are those who know very little but cover it up.

The key to investing is not assessing how much an industry is going to affect society, or how much it will grow, but rather determining the competitive advantage of any given company and, above all, the durability of that advantage.

When you understand that money is finite and it will go to where it has the best chance of success when given options, you are well on your way to being a successful investor.

Financial Management Quotes

Don’t tell me what you value, show me your budget, and I’ll tell you what you value. – Joe Biden

President Biden’s father used this expression, and boy did he nail it. I place more emphasis on people’s actions than words. What you spend on or don’t spend on is indicative of what you value. If you want to build wealth, take a hard look at your values.

The goal isn’t more money. The goal is living life on your teams. – Will Rogers

Having money gives you choices to walk away from things that don’t serve your greater purpose towards things that do.

Too many people spend 40-50-60 hours a week making money but won’t spend even 15 minutes a week managing it. Therein lies the mistake. – Saij Elle

We are taught to make money but not taught how to manage it, but managing it is far more important. At some point, the weekly paycheques will end. And then what?

Working because you want to, not because you have to is financial freedom. – Tony Robbins

So many people are relying on being able to work well into retirement to play catch-up. But they don’t know for certain if they’re health or the state of the economy will allow them to do that. Working in retirement because you want to, is a wonderful luxury. But if you have to work to make ends meet, it will be stressful.

A financial plan is nothing more than a strategy to make the most of your hard-earned money. – Saij Elle

Your ability to earn money has a shelf-life. Creating a roadmap so you can use that money as effectively as you can to build wealth, protect it and do all the things that matter to you most is the essence of what a financial plan is.

Staying disciplined in order to build financial skills is hard. Being financially stressed is hard. Choose your hard. – Saij Elle

All choices have trade-offs. Choose the one that gives you the best chance of happiness and success.

Too many people spend money they earned… to buy things they don’t want… to impress people that they don’t like. – Will Rogers

Stop keeping up with the Joneses. Because I promise you, the Joneses are so busy comparing themselves to everyone else, they will care about you for 5 minutes and then move on.

The habit of saving is itself an education; it fosters every virtue, teaches self-denial, cultivates the sense of order, trains to forethought, and so broadens the mind. – T.T. Munger

The art of saving touches our innate wisdom in more ways than one.
